1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create a TypingZila account, we collect:

• Email address
• Full name
• Country code
• Preferred language
• Password (stored as bcrypt hash — we never see your plaintext password)

1.2 Usage Data

• Typing session data (WPM, accuracy, error positions)
• Lesson progress and completion records
• Device and browser information (for analytics)
• IP address (for security and rate-limiting; not stored permanently)

1.3 Payment Information

• Razorpay order IDs and payment IDs (we do NOT store card numbers or bank details — Razorpay handles all payment data via their PCI-DSS-compliant infrastructure)

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide typing education: Track your progress, issue certificates
• Improve the platform: Aggregate analytics to identify drop-off points, improve lessons
• Communicate: Send certification emails, support responses, product updates (you can opt out)
• Prevent abuse: Rate-limiting, anti-cheat detection, fraud prevention
• Comply with law: Respond to legal requests when legally required

3. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your data. We share data only with:

• Razorpay (payment processing — they receive payment metadata)
• Resend (transactional email — they receive email address + message content)
• Twilio (SMS notifications — they receive phone number + message content)
• LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq — only when you use AI data-entry features; we send only the document text you upload)
• Law enforcement (only when legally compelled via valid court order)

4. Data Retention

• Active accounts: data retained while account is active
• Deleted accounts: data deleted within 30 days (except where law requires longer retention)
• Anonymized analytics: retained indefinitely (cannot be linked back to you)
• Certificate records: retained for 7 years (for verification purposes)

5. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of your data (email dklive.contact@gmail.com)
• Correction: Update your profile via /settings
• Deletion: Request account deletion (email dklive.contact@gmail.com — we'll delete within 30 days)
• Export: Download your typing history via /dashboard/history
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails (link in every email)

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (NextAuth.js session). We do NOT use third-party tracking cookies without your consent.

7. Children's Privacy

TypingZila is available to users 13+. For users under 18, parent/guardian consent is required (collected during school onboarding).

8. Changes to This Policy

We'll notify users via email of any material changes to this policy at least 30 days before they take effect.
